How's this for a paragraph of my novel?

The second half of the day was kinder. He sat in the garden with his tutor, Hebnefer, and was schooled in the different fields of education; writing, mathematics, and even history and a little geography. The garden, with its shady acacias and palms and its gently rippling pool was an oasis in miniature.
