What's the maintenance fee of a boat/yacht?
Somewhat a tough question, but maintaining a yacht is approximately 10 percent of the cost of the vessel, yearly, that involves maintainance, insurance, servicing engines and generators, parts that fail, power at dock to keep the systems on the boat working and keeping batteries in good shape, bottom paint every two to three years, detailing quarterly at approx $ 20 a foot, Fuel cost is hard judge, as it all depends on usage, last year I had a customer spend $ 55 000 in fuel and others less than a grand, also it depends on the amount you use the systems on the boat, the less you use them the worst they get, as the couch potato would be to get back in shape for a triathlon. Marina rates differ considerably depending where you want your boat to reside if you did not have a dock on your property and what geographical region you are situated, and what grade of amenities you are looking for. Just an example, for a 74 footer, in Norfolk, VA, transient fees $ 1.40 a foot, Trump Marina in NJ, $6.48 a foot a night, I know that yearly would be cheaper in both marina's but gives you an idea. As far as quality yachts, all depends if you are looking for speed and comfort, comfort alone, fly bridge models, express cruisers, trawlers, fishing machines, quite hard to narrow it down. I would say stay away from sea ray's, unless you want to pay exorbitant prices to work on most inaccessible systems. Post what boat you have an interest in an we may help with a review and 2 cents :)
