Is globalization a threat to Islam?

Alhamdulillah globalization influences muslims to migrate and also spread Islam throughout the world. However, how viable is it that globalization is bad for the younger and future muslim generation? For example, television programs from the West influences the young Muslims a lot. Moreover, Muslims are just followers and not leaders. Does the consequences outweigh the benefits? Will the decision of an Islamic country to be more a communist state inhumane or good?
